May 2022

To All Our Members

This will be the 1st in a series of monthly updates from the Golf Operations and Greenkeeper to update, You, our Members on what is happening at your Club and hopefully generate more engagement with your Club.

Golf Operations

This last weekend past, we held a very successful Ladies Club Championships, where we crowned a new Club Champion, Thaakirah Bickoo, one of our bright, young stars.

Congratulations must also go out to out to our Divisional Winners:

A Division: Isebel Visser

B Division: Sandra Knoesen

C Division: Anne Rowe

This brings us to a reminder to all our male members regarding your Club Championships to be held on the 4th and 5th of June. Club Champion is decided on gross score and the Divisions are decided on nett scores.

This upcoming weekend, we have our Nashua Member/Member competition, where pairs of our members compete to see who comes out on top as the best pair in the Club. This competition normally runs over 2 weekends, but unfortunately the 1st round was rained out, so the competition was reduced to 18 holes of Combined Stableford. It is not too late to enter, as there are still a limited amount tee off times available in the morning.

Greenkeeper

The laying of the new cart path in the front of the 2nd tee box started yesterday (Monday). This is a continuation of our cart path programme, where eventually we aim to connect all the cart paths around the course.

Maybe pop down to the Club for an ice cold beverage or a morning breakfast to see the changes which are being implemented.

In conclusion to this first monthly update:

May your drives be straight and long,,

Your irons accurate and on song,

And may there always be one putt! (hopefully not one putt too many)
